The Makory Bus

We are delighted to be hosting The Makory at Belper Arts Trail 2026. Drawing on themes of Experiment & Enlightenment, Industry & Innovation and Community & Craft, The Makory connects audiences with the county’s heritage of creative inquiry, industry, and collaboration.

The Makory tour for 2026 celebrates Derbyshire’s innovators – past and present – whose curiosity, creativity, and courage have shaped how we live and make. The programme will explore the county’s rich history of invention and craftsmanship through a series of artist-led workshops, a pre-produced exhibition, and participatory events across Derbyshire between February and May 2026.

During the trail, local artist Milly Melbourne will be aboard The Makory running drop in participatory activities so grab yourself a trail guide and find that bus!
